Avon, Ohio -- No Avon, it’s not a Chick-fil-A, but the city may soon be home to a new Panera Bread location. Mike Gilbert with Development Management Group, LLC is requesting approval from the city’s Planning Commision (Dec. 18 meeting) of the site plan for a proposed 4,523-sq.-ft. Panera restaurant to be constructed at 35680 Chester Road (between Menard’s and the new Bendix building). The plans also include approval from City Council of a special use permit for the location to include an outdoor patio and drive-thru.
It has not been confirmed if the Avon Commons Panera Bread location will remain as Covelli Enterprises, the Panera franchisee at Avon Commons, did not return calls for comment/confirmation. Gilbert also did not return calls for comment by deadline.
Additional items on Planning Commission’s agenda include approval of the general development plan for Avon International Commerce Park to be constructed on the north side of Avon Commerce Parkway, east of Moore Road. The site plan includes a 120,000-sq.-ft. building and parking lot for Avon International Commerce Park Phase 1.
In addition to the new businesses coming to the city, the approval of two new housing developments are on the agenda. Kevin Hoffman of Polaris Engineering, representing Garland New Homes, is requesting approval of the Preliminary Plat for a new 20 home subdivision called, Autumn Grove, to be constructed on the south side of Riegelsberger Road, west of Jaycox Road.
An informal presentation by Vince Bobkovich of Euthenics, is listed for a proposed Preliminary Plat for a new 41 home subdivision called, Avon Esplanade, to be constructed on the east side of Nagel Road, north of Mills Road
